Lyrics - Birds

This pub quiz handout round features 15 extracts of lyrics from famous songs, all of which have a type of bird in either their title or the name of the act who first had a hit with it. The aim is to identify these titles and artists. For example, the correct answer to "Maybe you’re just like my mother, she’s never satisfied" is "When Doves Cry" by Prince.

A number of these lyrics should be fairly easy to identify, so teams should be able to get up and running in this quiz round fairly quickly. However, there are also some lyrics that may take a fair bit of puzzling over before arriving at the right answer and there are likely to be a few where people will recognise the lyrics, but are not able to place them in a song!

These lyrics could be used to make up standard question and answer quiz rounds, where the quiz-master asks questions aloud, and the teams write their answers on blank answer sheets, but we recommended that they are used as a handout round.
