How to Run a Virtual Pub Quiz

Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, pub quizzes in their traditional form are unlikely to be an option for some time.

However, with the help of the internet, there are a number of ways in which you can run a "virtual pub quiz", allowing teams to take part from their own homes.

One way would be to simply email out handout rounds and "questions only" versions of our quizzes, then either collect in answers via email to mark them, or email out the answers for teams to mark themselves.

There are also plenty of ways in which you could "live stream" a quiz, with services such as Twitch, ZoomFacebook Live and YouTube Live allowing you to broadcast a live video that teams can tune in to via their computers, laptops, phones or even their smart TVs. These also have the option for teams to use "chat" facilities to make sure the usual pub quiz banter still goes on. Marking can be done by teams emailing or messaging their answers to you, or you can read out the answers for teams to mark themselves.
