The second of two complete pub quiz packs looking back at events from the year 2024, this quiz is particularly suitable for New Year's Eve parties and for quizzes run towards the end of 2024 or in early 2025.
The quiz is made up of 13 rounds, the first of which is a handout round split into four sections. The first section of this handout round features five picture clues that illustrate the titles of TV shows that were first broadcast in 2024. The aim for teams is to name these shows. The second section features five quotes from the year 2024 and the aim is to name the famous people responsible for them. The third section features photos of five singers who performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival in 2024 and the aim is to identify them. The final section features five phrases that can each be reworded to give a new phrase that is, or sounds like, the title of a film released in 2024, and the aim for teams is to name these films.
The rest of the quiz is made up of question-and-answer rounds based on events that took place in the 12 months of 2024. So, the next round is on events from January 2024 with an example question being "What were the first names of the mother and son who competed in the 2024 series of the BBC TV show The Traitors?"
The following round features five questions on events from February 2024, with an example question being "The Cabinet Office confirmed in February that which former Post Office boss had been formally stripped of her CBE?"
The rest of the rounds continue in the same manner, with a round of five questions on events that took place in March 2024, a round of five questions on events from April 2024, and so on.
The quiz pack is made up of six separate files as follows...
First of all, there is two-page sheet that you can print out and hand out to each team at the start of the quiz for them to write their answers on as you read out questions.
Secondly, there is the handout round, which is to be printed out and handed out to teams at the start of the quiz for them to work on straight away, and carry on working on throughout the quiz and during any breaks you have.
Next, there is a six-page document with all of the questions in the other rounds for you to read out, along with all the answers to these and the answers to the handout round. This also features two tie-break questions to be used at the end of your quiz if two or more teams end up with the same score, along with a set of substitute questions to help you tailor the difficulty level of your quiz.
There is also another version of this six-page document, but where all of the answers have been removed. This may not be needed, but is included in case the quiz-master would like to take part in the quiz too.
Next, there is a four-page sheet with instructions and advice on how to run a great quiz.
Finally, there is a quiz-master's scoresheet to help keep track of teams' scores.
If you buy this quiz, we will give you access to PDF files you can download. These will contain all of the material described above. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
