This pub quiz handout round features 15 quotes from the world of football, including "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea", "I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars... the rest I just squandered" and "I never comment on referees and I'm not going to break the habit of a lifetime for that prat". Choosing from a mixed up list that also includes 5 red herrings, the aim for teams in your quiz is to work out the famous people who were responsible for these quotes.

Teams should recognise a lot of these quotes and in a few cases, should be able to match up the correct people responsible for them without too much trouble, however, it is likely that teams will have to rely on a few guesses to complete the round.

These quotes could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds, where the quiz-master asks questions aloud, and the teams write their answers on blank answer sheets, but we recommended that they are used in a pub quiz as a handout round.
