Eurovision Timeline

This pub quiz handout round features a list of 15 events that have taken place in Eurovision Song Contests from years gone by, such as "ABBA win for Sweden with the song Waterloo" and "The interval act, Riverdance, receives a standing ovation". The years in which these events took place are given in a separate list and the aim for teams in your quiz is to match the correct years to the correct events.

While teams are unlikely to know the exact years that most of these events took place, the events are fairly well spaced out over the history of the contest, so for example, when trying to guess which year should be matched to "ABBA win for Sweden with the song Waterloo", teams may decide this was in the 1970s and so can choose between the only years from the 1970s in the list - 1970, 1971 and 1974.

While the information in this round could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds (where the quiz-master asks questions aloud and the teams write the answers on blank answer sheets) it is recommended that this is used in a quiz as a handout round.
