This is a very tricky pub quiz handout round on the theme of the Summer Olympics and features all the years in which the Summer Olympics were held between 1896 and 1984 (20 in total), along with mixed up lists of the host cities, plus facts about each of these Summer Olympics. The aim for teams in your quiz is to match these all up correctly.
Most teams should be able to match up at least a few of the facts correctly (e.g. "Daley Thompson won his first gold medal in the decathlon"), and teams may also be able to use knowledge outside of the Olympics to match up some facts (e.g. "Originally due to be held in Italy until Mount Vesuvius erupted and funds had to spent on the reconstruction of the city of Naples"). However, there are quite a few obscure facts included that will mean most teams will need to rely a lot on guess work to complete the round. Similarly, with the host cities, most teams should be able to match up most of the later years without too much trouble, but will probably have to guess a lot for the earlier years.
Because of the difficulty of this round, and that fact that a lot of guess work will be needed, it may be particularly useful for incorporating into your quiz if you have problems with the same few teams winning every quiz you do as this round should help mix things up a bit.
While the information in this round could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds (where the quiz-master asks questions aloud and the teams write the answers on blank answer sheets) it is recommended that this is used in a quiz as a handout round. If you buy this handout round, we will give you access to pdf files you can download. Two of these will be for the main handout sheet - one as illustrated above, and one in a more plain format. The third sheet will contain the answers. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
