Scrabble Scores - Chemical Elements
This handout round features 15 sets of Scrabble tiles, with the letters removed and just the values of the tiles left. The aim for teams in your quiz is to come up with the 15 chemical elements from the periodic table whose names fit these tile values. For example, the answer to the clue with tile values of "2, 1, 1, 2" is Gold, as the letters "g" and "d" score two points in Scrabble, while the letters "o" and "l" scores one point.
While there are a couple of clues that teams should be able to work out without too much trouble, there are quite a few tricky clues, and this round is likely to keep teams occupied for some time.
The information in this round could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds (where the quiz-master asks questions aloud and the teams write the answers on blank answer sheets), but it is presented so that it can also be used as a handout round. You can find more information on handout rounds and our recommended use for them in quizzes on our handout rounds page.
If you buy this handout round, we will give you access to pdf files you can download. Two of these will be for the main handout sheet - one as illustrated above, and one in a more plain format. The third sheet will contain the answers. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
