This pub quiz handout round features 15 words or phrases and the aim is to translate these into French words or phrases that are commonly used in English. For example, the correct answer to "great prize" is "grand prix".

As in the example above, a few of these are fairly straightforward, so teams should be able to get up and running on this round without too much trouble. However, there are also plenty of clues such as "burnt cream" and "in a sequence" that could keep them guessing for some time.

These clues could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds, where the quiz-master asks questions aloud, and the teams write their answers on blank answer sheets, but we recommended that they are used as a handout round.
