This pub quiz round features 15 extracts of lyrics from famous Christmas carols with the aim for teams being to name the carols, and so should be especially suitable if you are running a Christmas quiz.

A few of the lyrics (e.g. "The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay") are nice and easy to ensure teams get up and running quickly, but there are quite a few (e.g. "Hosanna in excelsis") that teams are likely to recognise, but may not be able to place in a Christmas carol straight away, and there are a few (e.g. "Make safe the way that leads on high and close the path to misery") that may keep teams guessing for some time.

These lyrics could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds where the quiz-master asks questions aloud and teams write their answers on blank answer sheets, but we recommended that they are used as a handout round.
