The aim of this pub quiz handout round is to name 15 songs from the first three words of their lyrics and the years they were at number one on the UK singles chart. For example, the correct answer to “In my imagination (1988)" is I Should Be So Lucky, which was a number one hit single for Kylie and opens with the lyrics "In my imagination there is no complication, I dream about you all the time".
This handout round also comes with an easier version that also includes the initials of the acts who had number one hit singles with the songs. So, in the example above, would also include "K. M." as part of the clue.
The information in this round could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds (where the quiz-master asks questions aloud and the teams write the answers on blank answer sheets), but it is also presented so that it can also be used as a handout round. You can find more information on handout rounds and our recommended use for them in quizzes on our handout rounds page.
If you buy this handout round, we will give you access to five pdf files you can download. Two will be for the main handout sheet as illustrated above - one with the initial letters of the acts and one without. There are also versions of these handout sheets, but in a more plain format. The final sheet will contain the answers. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
