An entertaining round featuring 20 of the 100 Worst Pop Records as voted for by the public and presented by Channel 4 in 2004. 20 of these are used in this quiz round, but only the initial letters of the artist and song are given and the aim is to expand these to give the full name of the artist and the full title of the song. For example, the song "T. C. S. (T. M. B.)" by the artist "T. C. G." can be expanded to give the correct answer of "The Cheeky Song" by "The Cheeky Girls".
As usual, there are a few sets of initials which most teams should be able to recognise fairly easily, but although all of the songs are well known, there are some which are likely to have teams puzzling over for some time! This round also has the added bonus of being entertaining giving team members plenty to talk about as they agreeing or disagree with some of the choices for "worst pop record"!
These initials could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds, where the quiz-master asks questions aloud, and the teams write their answers on blank answer sheets, but we recommended that they are used as a handout round. For more information on handout rounds and our recommended use for them in quizzes click here
If you buy this handout round, we will give you access to pdf files you can download. Two of these will be for the main handout sheet - one as illustrated above, and one in a more plain format. The third sheet will contain the answers. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
