This quiz round is based around the board game Monopoly and can be split into two distinct parts.
First of all, 12 different property values are given for the standard version of the game along with a mixed up list of 12 different properties which take these values and the aim is to match up the correct properties to the correct values (e.g. "£400" = "Mayfair"). This part of the round should prove fairly straightforward for most teams who are familiar with the game.
The second part is based on the recent "here and now" edition of Monopoly and again features 12 different property values. This time, however, instead of listing the properties in a mixed order, anagrams of the properties are given and the aim is to unscramble them (e.g. "Looney Den" = "London Eye"). While most teams may be unfamiliar with the "here and now" edition of the game, they should be familiar with all the modern day London locations that are scrambled up in this round, so everyone should enjoy this round, and there are quite a few tough anagrams in there that should ensure that people are puzzling over this round for some time.
It is recommended that these anagrams are used in a quiz as a handout round. For more information on handout rounds and our recommended use for them in quizzes click here
Please note that this handout round also appears in Weekly Quiz 24. If you would prefer to purchase our pre-compiled full weekly quizzes, then click here, where you can find quizzes with a handout round, 2 rounds on general subjects, a specialist subject round, a connections round, an initial letter link round, and a stick or twist round, as well as professionally designed answer sheets and full instructions on how to run your quiz. If, however, you prefer to use your own format for your quizzes, then this handout round should help towards creating an entertaining and challenging quiz.
If you buy this handout round, we will give you access to pdf files you can download. Two of these will be for the main handout sheet - one as illustrated above, and one in a more plain format. The third sheet will contain the answers. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
