Review Of The Year 2022 Quiz 1

The first of two pub quizzes looking back on events from the year 2022, this quiz is particularly suitable for New Year's Eve parties and for quizzes run towards the end of 2022 or early in 2023. It takes on a similar format to that of our weekly quizzes and is made up of the following rounds...

Round 1: In Memoriam 2022
This picture round features photos of 15 famous people who died in 2022. The aim for teams in your quiz is to identify them.

Round 2: Entertainment
Ten questions on events from the world of entertainment in 2022, such as "CODA, the film that won the Best Picture Oscar in 2022, has a title that stands for what four-word phrase?"

Round 3: Connections
Nine questions on General Knowledge, plus a final question asking for a 2022-related question between the previous nine answers.

Round 4: Points Builder... Sport
Four questions on sport in 2022, where question one is asking for one answer, question two is asking for two answers, and so on, and where each individual answer is worth one point.

Round 5: British Politics
Ten questions on British politics in 2022, such as "In May, Jamie Oliver carried a giant version of what dessert when he led a protest outside Downing Street over a government u-turn on its anti-obesity strategy?"

Round 6: Initial Letter Link
Ten questions on events from 2022, where the answer to the final question can be spelt out by rearranging the first letters of the first nine answers.

Round 7: Which Month?
Ten questions asking teams to name the month of 2022 in which various events took place, such as "In which month of 2022 did the Met Office record a temperature in the UK that was above 40 degrees celcius for the first time?"

Round 8: 2022 Mix
A final ten questions on the year 2022, such as "On April 9th, Sam Waley-Cohen became the first amateur winner of what since Marcus Armytage in 1990?"

The pub quiz pack is made up of six separate files as follows...

First of all, there is a two-page answer sheet that you can print out and hand out to each team at the start of the quiz for them to write their answers on as you read out questions.

Secondly, there is the picture round. Again you can print this out and hand it out to teams at the start of your quiz for them to work on straight away, and carry on working on throughout the quiz and during any breaks you have.

Next, there is a six-page document with all of the questions for you to read out, along with all the answers to these and the answers to the handout round. This also features two tie-break questions to be used at the end of your quiz if two or more teams end up with the same score, along with a set of substitute questions to help you tailor the difficulty level of your quiz.

There is also another version of this six-page document, but where all of the answers have been removed. This may not be needed, but is included in case the quizmaster would like to take part in the quiz too.
