Round 1: Quotes Of 2012
This handout round features 15 quotes from 2012 such as "I wanted a gold medal for each of my two girls on the way. They could come any day now". The aim for teams is to identify the famous people responsible for them.
Round 2: Entertainment
10 questions on events from 2012 in the world of entertainment, such as "Which TV show connects the 2012 number one hit singles Domino, This Is Love and Hall Of Fame?"
Round 3: Connections
7 general knowledge questions plus a final question, worth 3 points, asking for a 2012 related connection between the first 7 answers.
Round 4: In The News
5 questions on news stories from 2012 such as "What event from 2012 led to the arrest of Francesco Schettino?"
Round 5: Points Builder
5 questions on events from 2012, where question 1 requires 1 answer, question 2 requires 2 answers, and so on. Each individual answer is worth 1 point, so 15 points in total are up for grabs in this round.
Round 6: Sport
10 questions on events from 2012 in the world of sport, such as "Of all the countries playing in Euro 2012, which one had never played in the European Championships before?"
Round 7: Initial Letter Link
9 questions on events from 2012, where the answer to the last question is worth 2 points and can be spelt out by rearranging the first letters of the first 8 answers.
Round 8: Which Month?
5 questions asking for the months of 2012 in which given events took place.
Round 9: Double Trouble
10 questions on 2012 such as "At the Diamond Jubilee Concert held at Buckingham Palace on June 4th, who performed a song that featured the word `diamonds` in its title?". Each correct answer is worth 2 points, but teams can choose to leave answers blank as each incorrect answer is worth minus 4 points!
First of all there is a specially designed 2 page answer sheet to be printed out and distributed to each team at the start of the quiz for them to write their answers on as you read out questions. This also features a round by round scoresheet to make it easy to see how each team has performed after all the answers have been marked at the end of the quiz.
Secondly, there is the handout round, which again is to be printed out and distributed to each team at the start of the quiz for them to work on straight away, and carry on working on throughout the quiz and during any breaks you have.
Next there is a 4 page document featuring all the questions in rounds 2 to 9 for you to read out during the quiz, along with all the answers to these plus the answers to the handout round. This also features 2 tie-break questions to be used at the end of your quiz if two or more teams end up with the same score. There is also a "questions only" version of this in case the quiz master wants to take part in the quiz too and so doesn't want to see the answers before he or she has read out all of the questions.
Finally, there is a 4 page document with detailed round by round instructions and notes, plus general advice and recommendations on running a successful and entertaining quiz.
If you buy this quiz, we will give you access to pdf files you can download. These will contain all of the material described above. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
