Song Backgrounds 2

This pub quiz handout round features details of the backgrounds behind 10 famous number one hit singles (what the song is about, who it was written for, etc.) Given this information, the aim for teams in your quiz is work out the titles of the songs. For example, one clue states "About a woman, who was later sent to a mental hospital, who claimed the singer was the father of one of her sons and who changed her surname, claiming she was married to the famous singer." The answer to this is Billie Jean by Michael Jackson.

This round is likely to prove difficult for most teams, but given enough time, teams should be able to arrive at the correct answers for some of these and come up with good guesses for the rest.

The information in this handout round could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds where the quiz-master asks questions aloud and teams write their answers on blank answer sheets, but we recommended that they are used as a handout round.
