This pub quiz handout round features a story with 15 paragraphs where, in each paragraph, two words are blanked out. The aim for teams in your quiz is to complete the story by filling in the blanks so that each pair of words in a paragraph are anagrams of each other.
For example, the paragraph... "They visited a number of Italian cities on holiday and liked them all, but they really wished they had been able to spend a bit _ _ _ _ time in _ _ _ _"... can be completed using the anagram pair of "more" and "Rome".
There are 30 blanks in total, so 15 anagram pairs to be found, and while there are some that teams should be able to work out fairly easily, there are also some that aren't so obvious, so this quiz round should keep people in your quiz entertained for a while.
It is recommended that this story is used in a quiz as a handout round, and that a considerable amount of time is given so that all the teams in your quiz can enjoy this round fully. For more information on handout rounds and our recommended use for them in quizzes click here
Please note that this handout round also appears in Weekly Quiz 84. If you would prefer to purchase our pre-compiled full weekly pub quiz packs, then click here, where you can find quizzes with a handout round, 2 rounds on general subjects, a specialist subject round, a connections round, an initial letter link round, and a stick or twist round, as well as professionally designed answer sheets and full instructions on how to run your quiz. If, however, you prefer to use your own format for your quizzes, then this handout round should help towards creating an entertaining and challenging quiz.
If you buy this handout round, we will give you access to pdf files you can download. Two of these will be for the main handout sheet - one as illustrated above, and one in a more plain format. The third sheet will contain the answers. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
