Cryptic TV Shows 5
Another in our series of cryptic TV shows rounds, this pub quiz handout round features 15 phrases that can each be reworded to give a new phrase that sounds like the name of a TV show. The years in which these were first broadcast are also given, and the aim for teams is to name the shows. For example, the correct answer to the clue "Imminent drink's queue (2012)" is "Line Of Duty" as the clue can be reworded as "line of due tea".
A few of these cryptic clues are fairly straightforward and most teams in your quiz should be able to get up and running on this round without too much trouble. However, there are some tricky clues that are likely to take a fair bit of puzzling over before teams arrive at the correct answer.
It is recommended that these cryptic clues are used in a quiz as a handout round. For more information on handout rounds and our recommended use for them in quizzes click here
If you buy this handout round, we will give you access to pdf files you can download. Two of these will be for the main handout sheet - one as illustrated above, and one in a more plain format. The third sheet will contain the answers. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
Please note that this handout round also appears in Weekly Quiz 658. If you would prefer to purchase our pre-compiled full weekly pub quiz packs, then click here, where you can find quizzes with a handout round, 7 question and and answer rounds, plus sheets for teams to write their answers on and full instructions on how to run a successful quiz.
