The Queen`s Speech

Especially relevant if you're running a pub quiz around Christmas time, this handout round features key quotes from 15 of the Queen's Royal Messages over the years. The aim for teams is to name these years. For example, the answer to "The happy arrival of our fourth grandchild gave great cause for family celebrations" is 1984 as this was referring to the birth of Prince Harry.

All of the events referred to in the extracts of the speeches should be familiar to teams in your quiz, but a lot of them may prove difficult in trying to identify the exact year. For this reason the answer sheet that comes with this quiz round recommends that teams are awarded a full mark for a correct year, and half a mark if they are just one year out.
