This Christmas themed pub quiz handout round features the initials of the titles of songs that have just missed out on being the Christmas number one in 20 different years. The years are given too, along with the songs that stopped them becoming Christmas number one, and the aim for teams in your quiz is to expand on the initials to come up with the full titles of the songs and to name the acts who had a hit with them.
For example, the correct answer to "A.I.W.F.C.I.Y." which was a Christmas number two in 1994 when "Stay Another Day" by East 17 was Christmas number one, is "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey.
There are a few other cases like this example which should ensure teams get up and running quickly on this round, but there are also plenty of more tricky clues, so teams may have to use some guesswork to complete the round.
These clues could be used to make up standard question and answer rounds, where the quiz-master asks questions aloud, and the teams write their answers on blank answer sheets, but we recommended that they are used as a handout round. If you buy this handout round, we will give you access to pdf files you can download. Two of these will be for the main handout sheet - one as illustrated above, and one in a more plain format. The third sheet will contain the answers. You probably already have everything you need to access and use these rounds in your quiz, but you might want to check our requirements page to make sure.
